Earth Is Bigger Than the Sun?
#246: What if Earth is bigger than the Sun, flipping the textbook size hierarchy to match local-sun or enclosed-world models.
The Meme
Matrix Morpheus template: top "what if I told you" / bottom "Earth is bigger than the Sun" over sunglasses portrait macro.
Why It Spreads
The Morpheus what if I told you template is an instant scroll-stop format, and flipping Earth larger than the Sun sounds like forbidden knowledge in one frame. Swapping a single astronomy fact for its opposite feels clever without invoking parallax, radar ranging, or eclipse geometry.
What It Gets Wrong
The Matrix Morpheus imgflip template reading "what if I told you / Earth is bigger than the Sun" is a macro caption over a movie still, not parallax data. The Sun's radius is ~696000 km versus Earth's ~6371 km, solar mass ~3.3×10⁵ Earth masses, and Earth orbits at ~1 AU (~150 million km) with year-length ~365 days, fixing a distant massive Sun inconsistent with a nearby small lamp. Annular and total solar eclipses require the Moon near angular parity with that distant Sun, and measured solar noon angles swing by tens of degrees with latitude. TestTheGlobe's A Local Sun Explains Day and Night and TestTheGlobe's Solar Noon Angle walk through the observations and predictions this image skips.
The Debunk
The Matrix Morpheus imgflip template ("what if I told you / Earth is bigger than the Sun") is a macro caption, not an occult measurement. The Sun's radius is ~696000 km versus Earth's ~6371 km, and solar mass ~3.3×10⁵ Earth masses sets orbital mechanics: Earth orbits at ~1 AU (~150 million km) with year-length ~365 days, inconsistent with a nearby small Sun.
